Born on October 14, 1994, Seamus was the cherished son of Jerome R. Kirby III and Kathryn Kimberly Kirby. Seamus attended several local schools, including Underwood School, Cluny School, and Pennfield School, before graduating from Rocky Hill Country Day School in 2013. He was a natural athlete, known for his prowess in various sports, particularly lacrosse. As the captain of the Rocky Hill Boys Varsity Lacrosse team, Seamus led his team with distinction, earning numerous accolades including being named to the SENEISAA first team All-League in 2012. His relentless drive and competitive spirit were recognized when he became the first recipient of the Charley Blanchard Relentless Spirit Award.

Beyond lacrosse, Seamus held records for most goals, assists, and face-offs won in a season and over a four-year varsity career. His athletic abilities were matched by his academic achievements, which culminated in his graduation from the College of Charleston in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation and Community Planning.

At just ten years old, he began racing motocross bikes, and by the age of twelve, he had already won the NESC Motocross Championship in the 85cc class.
